Our Lady of the Rockies stands atop the Continental Divide
overlooking Butte. Weather permitting, tours are taken to the statue
site from June through September and sometimes into October. As the 7-
mile-long road up the mountain is a private road shared by various
groups, public access is not possible. To help prevent commercialization , there
is no gift shop or concession stand on the mountain site itself.
We are entering an exciting time. A chapel/observatory has been
built on the mountain site. A Women's Memorial Wall honoring all women
and mothers is on the outer basement walls of this chapel. The name of
any deceased woman can be submitted. Currently, there are over 15,000
name tiles placed on the wall.
